After five attempts to own the popular Balen-Keiheuvel International Shaun showed that he is back to potent form by winning all three motos on Bank Holiday Monday in Belgium and beating a host of Grand Prix peers to the top of the podium.

Overpelt resident Simpson has been a regular at one of the biggest motocross draws in Belgian for over half a decade and for the sun-kissed 2016 edition ‘24’ was fully fit and aiming for a confidence boost ahead of the Grand Prix of the Netherlands at Assen next week and the fifteenth round of eighteen in MXGP.

“I’m back on track,” the British No.1 said. “What an amazing day. I bossed all three motos and beat Romain Febvre and Kevin Strijbos quite easily. The weather was great and I got stuck into the track. I kinda wish I had this form and feeling at Lommel [the Belgian GP] a few weeks ago but I think this is a very decent way to kick off the last phase of the season.”

Before Shaun can get return to the fun of the sand at Assen there is the matter of the penultimate round of the Maxxis British Championship at Preston Docks this coming weekend where the KTM man will be looking to close down the 16 point gap to Tommy Searle with 100 remaining.
