It was one of those days for SS24 at the Thailand Circuit for the second round of the 2015 FIM Motocross World Championship. In stifling heat and with a short, tacky and jumpy new track to contend with Shaun was on the back foot after the Timed Practice session where he struggled to piece together a rapid lap.

The British Champion had fast split times but could not link the sections for a solid position in the gate. Starting from outside the top twenty the Qualification Heat was eventful as the Scot fell twice and had to restart from last. A lowly 23rd spot means a tough ask for the motos tomorrow but the Hitachi Construction Machinervy Revo rider is determined to fight against the adversity. “Not much to say about today,” he offered. “I messed up the Timed practice and couldn’t get a fast lap despite five attempts. The day just carried on like that in the heat race. It is a strange track and got a bit better as the day went on but it’s not really a place for a GP. Anyway, we’ll look to reverse today for tomorrow and see what we can get.”

Ryan Villopoto blitzed the MXGP field to earn his first Pole Position of the season with Clement Desalle in second place.
